Christmas Break in AZ/CA

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Hello wonderful readers!
My Christmas break was jam packed full of amazing memories with friends and family.
This post is mostly just a TON OF PICTURES! After a long and exhausting finals week at BYU, I was more than happy to have time to take so many pictures with the people I love. It is so true that the tough times in life just help you to realize how precious the good times are.
Bridgett and I are the worst at following the directions on the gingerbread kits but we end up creating some pretty funny looking houses (or more like My Little Pony stables this year). We spent the first couple of days in Gilbert with cousins and also got to see the Mesa temple lights.
Christmas eve was full of fondu and family just like every year since I can remember. So much cheese and chocolate! Plus, my cute baby cousins loved the fort that I set up outside.
Most of the rest of the break was spent at Disneyland! We have been holding strong to this tradition and this was one of the best years yet.
Bridgett kept trying to break my lollipop with hers so I took a clack at hers and ended with the picture on the left^^^! haha. She actually ended up cutting her tongue on it while licking that bright/sugary goodness for the fourth consecutive hour! And no... we didn't even get close to finishing them before we tossed them and swore to never waste our money again. At least the pictures were cute! Oh and we got our Disney Sweaters from Forever 21.
I just kind of realized that my blog is just a bunch of pictures of my sister and I... And I'm pretty happy about it because she is my best friend and forever will be! I'm not even a little bit sorry.
I know we have you all convinced that we are photogenic, but in reality we look like this (Picture on the right) 99% of the time. Pretty embarrassing but fun to be around!

The rest of our time in California was spent in Newport. Ate deliciously large crab legs and mussels, took pretty pictures on the pier, and went to the temple.
Bridgett kept creeping closer to the seagull and was pretty upset when he flew away.
Nothing makes me happier than to think that someday I will get to love someone the way my parents love each other. They are the most beautiful example of a love that is deep, eternal, and FUN! I'm so blessed to have them as my example of selfless love.
We ended the break by going to the University of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Game where we lost to Boise State. I was bummed for sure but the tasty/massive nachos helped me cope with the loss. Seriously though, those nachos were heaven sent. If you actually read this whole post than I am super suprised because this post was RIDICULOUSLY long. My bad.

I am so very blessed to have these memories to look back on. :) I am the WORST at journaling but I'm happy I get to remember these moments because of the pictures we took. Have a great weekend readers and don't forget to take pictures!

Provo Fashion Week

Sunday, January 4, 2015

Back in October I decided that I wanted to be a part of Provo Fashion Week! I modeled for one of my favorite bridal designers Chantel Lauren. Her designs are the perfect mix of elegance and bohemian style. The craziest part is that Chantel has never had a sewing lesson yet she creates the most flawless gowns. We had way too much fun taking pictures in the middle of no where, on private property (whoops!), when it was 25 DEGREES outside! Needless to say, it was the coldest I have ever been after 2 hours of pictures!
Aren't these the most gorgeous sleeves?! I am now officially obsessed with lacy, fluttery sleeves.
I was lucky enough to get my hair done by the lovely Emma Ribeira. Not only is she the most hilarious Canadian I have ever met, but she's also THE BEST hairstylist!
These pictures were taken by Hannah Taylor who was the happiest 8 month pregnant photographer I've ever met! These pictures turned out perfect.
I was so excited that my gorgeous sister was in town for the week and was able to come watch me walk the runway! She was the one who did my hair for the second fashion show (The dutch/fishtail braid below). I loved having her around to make me laugh and do my hair! She is seriously so talented! It is always a good weekend when she is around.
I met so many beautiful friends who were also modeling Chantel Lauren Designs. We became super close over that weekend! Between the dancing backstage and binge eating Chick-fil-a nuggets before hitting the runway, we made some unforgettable memories!

Family fun in the fall

Happy Fall lovely followers!
It is officially looking like fall in Utah! I pulled out my sweaters and boots and can't wait to jump in a huge pile of leaves. This past weekend was ahhh-mazing! My family came up so we took full advantage of the nice weather and gorgeous falling leaves. Here are some pictures of our adventures in Park City on the Alpine Slide and zip-lines.

I love this picture of my adorable parents! Candid/laughing pictures are the best!

We also went to Deer Creek and spent a few minutes skipping rocks (a.k.a. throwing boulders into the lake to make big splashes).

The picture on the right will eternally make me laugh! Even though it looks like my mom is in motion, she had slowed to a stop about 20 yards from the landing pad and had to scootch her way to the end with about 50 onlookers sharing in my laughter.

These boots from Kohls are the best fall purchase I have made thus far! I was giddy with excitement when I went to Dillards and saw that Steve Madden had the same ones for 2x the price!

Isn't Bridgett GORGEOUS?! I love having a pretty sister to practice my photography on. That hair of hers looks perfect in every picture.

Sometimes it makes me laugh to see the great lengths we will go to for a great picture! Nearly falling into a very cold river is only one of the hazards of going on photography adventures with me.

Okay... this might be my all time favorite picture of my Dad and I! Our double chins and his crows feet are so perfect! If only you could see the happy tears from laughing this hard!

Fall in Utah is beautiful! To say that I'm currently happy, would be an understatement :)

Have a lovely day readers!

My Hair Challenge!

Friday, September 19, 2014

Hello Friends and Family!!!

Many of you have requested more hair posts so here you go! This school year I decided to mix things up a bit and try out lots of different hair styles! My mom, sister, and I have a never ending group message where we send pictures constantly. Sorry if it sounds odd, but every morning I take a "selfie" and send it over to them for hair/makeup/outfit approval :) So I'm sorry in advance for the ridiculous amount of embarrassing selfies that I took in my adorable living room and bathroom.
I normally have my hair down and curled or up in a pony tail, so it has been fun to push myself to try out new styles! I hope that some of these pictures give you a little inspiration/motivation to mix things up and do something fun with your hair!

I'm obsessed with braids and try to incorporate them into as many styles as I can! They are super fast and totally vamp up any hair style!

I've incorporated my obsession with bows into my hair styles and I'm excited to buy more hair accessories this season!

Have a great weekend dear readers!

Jumping back into college life!

Sunday, September 7, 2014

Well friends, I'm back in Happy Valley (Provo, Utah)!
My classes are all amazing and I'm IN LOVE with my new house and roommates! I can't get enough of BYU and all the fun friends I have made this week! Here is a look at my week in pictures...

This is my adorable house. I have NINE roommates that make me laugh until I cry! We are already really tight and stay up way too late...

This is the Provo Temple that is about 3 minutes from my house.

On Labor Day I went with some friends to Mona where we swam and tried out the rope swings!

This was my first time, and even though I look pretty graceful, it ended with a pretty bad back flop!

Eating Fro-Yo with my adorable roommates!

My favorite spot to relax on campus.

Friday night rooftop concert and dance parties!

All the cool kids eat at the hospital at midnight after going to dance parties because everything else is closed... That corn dog was sooo good!

Saturday morning hike in Provo Canyon with half of the roommates!

We love roommate bonding in the great outdoors!

It was a great week! I forgot how much I love Utah and college life! :) I hope you had a wonderful week too!
